The Town Centre

Hailsham Town Centre is still a busy shopping area despite the abundance of empty shops which is now typical of so many British towns.

There are currently two supermarkets in the town; Tesco and Waitrose. Iceland and W.H.Smiths are other well known shops which can be found in the town centre.

The focal point of the town is St Mary’s Church which still feels quite rural even in it’s town centre location. Close to the church is the war memorial which has been recently improved and is a popular place to sit and relax and meet with friends.

Behind the High Street is the leisure centre which has a swimming pool a gymnasium, a bowling alley, a soft-play area, a dance studio and a coffee shop.
